Experience a unique book talk in Bahrain, where Francesca Cartier Brickell retraces her great-grandfather's footsteps from a century ago. In 1912, Jacques Cartier traveled to the Persian Gulf in search of the finest natural pearls for Cartier's most prestigious creations. This presentation, held in partnership with Danat Pearls, explores Jacques Cartier's pearl-buying expeditions and his relationships with pearl merchants in the region. Discover the fascinating history of natural pearls in haute joaillerie and how these gems from the Gulf became centerpieces of some of Cartier's most legendary designs.
Retracing her great-grandfather's footsteps with a visit to Bahrain, 100 years after he searched for pearls in these waters.
